I have a small space for my setup and i tested several monitors. I ended up with the yamaha HS8. They are affordable amd they work for me for electronic music

I second that. When I switched from 30€ speakers to okay-ish monitors (Yamaha HS8) and played around with an equalizer I was "oh.. fuck.. I can actually hear the changes".

Audiophiles are the worst. “I just want to hear it the way the artist intended.” Go buy some Yamaha HS8’s and a decent dac, done. That’s what they probably referenced them through.

Two things; headphones are never going to be as flat as monitors can be and will always have some form of hyped bass, and the monitors you have struggle with what you're trying to do. Original ones, yes. Mark II models, stay away from. I used to be the Mackie service agent for the state and the modern stuff is utter garbage, top to bottom.
