MBP 16 inch display ruined me, is Studio Display XDR my only option?

Generally, my experience using the old studio display on Mac just wasn’t ideal. I also really don’t recommend these Apple monitors as gaming monitors because the studio display xdr but also the original studio display and new version of the bass studio display seemingly do no overdrive so everything

Is OLED burn-in a significant risk with the newer iPad Pro models? Is the Air better for screen longevity?

Because lots here on reddit don't seem to believe burn-in is still possible on OLED LOL. Just less likely with improved OLED panels but as you can see here definitely possible even on latest tandem OLED panels. Here's an example of some really bad burn-in on an OLED iPad iPad Pro M4 signs of burn-in

Photographers, REJOICE! Studio Display (XDR) FW update brings calibration!

Apple released a significant firmware update (Version 26.4) today, March 24, 2026, specifically for the new Studio Display (2026) and the Studio Display XDR that launched earlier this month. While Apple’s official release notes are often "concise" (to put it politely), early documentation and user r

Are there any good 6K 32" monitors with decent NITS on the horizon?

Yeah, like the other person said, Apple built what you wanted 6 years ago. They were and still are far ahead of the game. It's been out so long it was discontinued recently, with the release of the Studio Display XDR (5K 27" miniLED 120Hz with 2304 dimming zones, the Pro Display XDR was 6K 32" but ha

The 27" Studio Display XDR is great, but where is the real 32" 6K 120Hz successor?

Honestly, I think the issue was just that only I think the M4 pro and Max and M5 pro and Max support it. I think what we might see is that with M6 you get thunderbolt five on the base chip and then they will probably feel a bit more comfortable releasing 6K 120 monitor. Like 5K120 is supported as fa

Studio Display XDR owners, what are your opinions on the display?

Got mine for some days now, paired with my 14" M3 Max MacBook Pro. I got the glossy one, because Nano Texture ruins sharpness for me and I really don't need it either. I work with photo and video, doing editing and color, and I am very very sensitive to picture quality. I have to say that overall is

Studio Display (2026) vs. Studio Display XDR vs. Alternatives

I'll be honest, I've always wanted the Studio Display but it's always been well out of my budget. About 5 years ago I think bought a Dell UltraSharp 27" 4K which was a massive upgrade coming from a crappy AOC 24" 1080p TN panel. As I use my parents M4 iMac when visiting them I do notice the amount of

Apple Studio XDR Display with or without nano texture?

Yeah man that's bad. Some people are just more sensitive to the PWM flickering. Have you upgraded the monitor firmware? The latest firmware seems to have reduced the flickering somewhat: Apple released a significant firmware update (Version 26.4) today, March 24, 2026, specifically for the new Studi
