Coffee shops/ground beans!
Congrats on the machine. What did you get? First thing you will want to do is order a scale off of Amazon that measures in tenths of a gram, that will fit under your portafilter on a whatever cup you are dispensing into. These can range from $20 for generic to over $250 for an enthusiast level scale

Best Starter Machine? [No Budget]
Bambino plus is a great newlywed coffee machine. DF54 if you’re into properly sampling or dosing your coffees by weight. The Breville Smart Grinder Pro is older and not as well-specced for enthusiasts, but fits the bambino’s portafilter size perfectly and is pretty intuitive to use. If you’re wantin

Buying advice on Breville
Obligatory separate grinder comment. The touch screen is neat but these are really still semi-manual machines, so you still need to dial in your beans and grinds. So really functionally, the Touch Impress is no better than a Bambino Plus with a grinder and a calibrated tamper. (Touch impress does al

Best espresso machines to buy in 2026? [$500]
For legit espresso you need two things: - A machine with a portafilter and a non pressurized filter. - A proper coffee grinder that is capable of fine enough. Plainly put, without a coffee grinder that can grind fine enough to build pressure on a non pressurized filter you cannot make a proper espre

1st machine purchase [$1k budget]
NQA I have a Bambino, and a 54mm bottomless portafilter. It's cheap as far as espresso machines go. It's ready in 3 seconds. I already had a Breville Smart Grinder Pro for Perc and for Pour Overs. It is not the best grinder option since I have been reading and watching videos. I get decent grinds an

Coffee machine recommendations newly WFH in Australia [$1500]
Breville Dual boiler, can’t be beat on sale for around $1k (see ozbargain), plus a decent grinder. The Breville SGP is ok and can be had for around $250, but there are many better options (especially if you look second hand).

Some VERY dumb questions for anyone with patience for me (totally new to this)
Definitely a better grinder....Breville SGP is ok, DF54 or Baratza ESP.I'd recommend getting a bottomless portafilter, the provided Breville one along with the baskets with the Bambino are poor, I really struggled to get good shots from them. Much better PFs can be gotten pretty cheap: https://www.a

Buying a grinder to work with Bambino Plus (eventually Profitec Go) and V60 and French Press currently have Breville Smart Grinder Pro [$450 canadian]
So its not so much that the breville smart grinder 'Can't' create espresso grinds. Its just that higher end devices can give you a variation in flavor. Meaning a breville smart pro grinder will do the job BUT a higher end grinder will just give you a better flavor ( which kind of is debatable if any

Very Disappointed in my new machine... Please Help
My go to place for these situations is some sort of second hand store, depending where you live there are different options. Facebook marketplace can be good, wallapop in Spain, carousell in Singapore, there are a few options. You are definitely not one of the people don’t worry - you’ve given the m
