What to do with a dead Precision 7540
I would try to disconnect the bakup battery also, but that has a very small and fiddly connector.(It's a rechargeable coin cell with a cable. Bl**dy crap) Done that procedure on way too many DELLs. Also, as this is a Precision, I'd remove the heat sink and reapply the thermal paste. The 7550/7750 an

Need help with upgrading RAM on my Precision 7760 laptop
would i just need to purchase a single 16gb or higher card, since the laptop already has a 16 in it Yes, but you’d have to match the spec (if you get something faster it’ll downclock to the slower speed) A list of supported configs can be found here. is 32 the highest i should go? No, you can go up

Is Dell XPS 15 (9520) a good laptop?
Hi. I know this is an old thread but since you have reviewed so many laptops, are the Dell Precisions the most reliable and easiest to repair? I have been looking at the 7760 because it gets so much praise but the used prices are going crazy right now. I can be patient but I was also looking at the

Need help with upgrading RAM on my Precision 7760 laptop
I'm curious what price range you're hoping to get one for and for what specs. I bought a 7760 on ebay about a month ago that was all but maxed out (i9, 64gb ram, rtx a5000 16gb gpu, 2tb ssd) with significant but inconsequential cosmetic damage for about $1000. That was nearly half what other sellers

Dell Precision 7740 / 7760
That's cool no repairs. I'm sure if I have to replace the thermal paste the machine will somehow let me know and it's an easy fix YouTube video. I don't know how it's faster. I just googled Dell precision 7760 versus 7750 and a bunch of information came up but this was the gist of it "Both feature h

If I want to add more RAM to a Dell precision 7760, will any 3200 MHz RAM work? Prices have gone up a lot since last week so trying to see if I can save money by finding one with less ram that I could just add
Thank you for all of this but I've been researching for the last month on my next laptop and I wanted something that was easy to fix and was reliable and durable and everything came back to ThinkPad and precision. Some latitude models but everything pointed to precision being the one to get. I origi

Just got a "new" laptop... Dell Precision 7750
The 7750 doesn't have a touchscreen option AFAIK. I have 4x16gb sticks in my 7750. Also, you can do a GPU upgrade if you decide you ever need it, the Quadro RXT 4000 or 5000 would be a drop in replacement. For adding a fingerprint, I would contact Dell parts people (as in the company, not Dell suppo

dell pro max 16 vs dell alienware 16x
Dell ProMax for sure if you're fine with the GPU's they use. The build quality and warranty is MUCH better. I've been using a Precision laptop for 7+ years as my workhorse without issues. Had a 5520, 7760 and a 7680. All Stellar rigs with no issues. Sometimes I want to run 4 SSDs and 64GB ram, and t
