Top electric grinders on Reddit by positive & negative comments - for entry lvl espresso vs light roast espresso vs multiple brew methods etc. Based on 652 posts in the past year (Mar 2026)
Surprised Eureka isn’t higher. My Eureka Mignon Specialita has easily been the most reliable and stable grinder I’ve owned. I’ve been in the hobby for about 25 years now so I’ve had several in that time. A single piece of data I know but the design and operation is remarkably consistent and dependab

My wife's birthday [$2000]
Happy early birthday to your better half.First off, always prioritize the grinder over the machine. It might sound backwards, but it’s the grinder that truly determines how good the espresso tastes. A good grinder will make even a basic machine shine. Ideally, you should spend about half your budget

Beginner Friendly Espresso Machine & Grinder [$500-1k]
Get a single dose grinder such as DF54. You'll have to change grind size back and forth since decaf will require a much finer grind, but that's not a huge problem. Do not get a hopper grinder such as Eureka Mignon Specialita. When adjusting grind size on a hopper grinder, you need to run the grinder

Good starter set? [$500]
I noticed Less about taste, more about consistency. I could pull great shots with my ESP grinder, but it was not consistent. I also had trouble with lighter roasts, and it got to a point where I could not go any finer. I purchased an open box eureka mignon specialita for like $650, and I’m loving it

Witch one to keep?
I went from the Eureka Mignon Specialita with single dose bellows/hopper to the niche zero. Niche is easier to dial in for espresso Niche adjustments are far superior However; Eureka can make an objectively nicer modern style shot with light beans (but is more of a pain to dial in) Eureka is quieter

Recommendations for Grinder (and perhaps espresso machine) [£1000]
A Flair58 and an eureka flat burr grinder will give you a wide range to work with and potential for awesome espresso of several types. I used a flair58+v2 stock and then added bookoo EM/scales when I got an itch, I used the eureka mignon specialita and modded it to be a zero retention single dose gr

How often do you deep clean your grinder?
I'm in same boat as you, what I've done is get something on Amazon called grindz g01, no idea if it's doing anything though lol. -dump cap of tablets in grinder grind 'medium' (I have ARO dial on eureka mignon specialita, so I just picked 20, which is somewhere between espresso and pour over grinds)

Sage Barista Pro (built-in Baratza grinder) – worth upgrading to a separate grinder?
I have the Sage Barista Pro and bought a standalone Eureka Mignon Specialita. It's been a great addition - more precise, more consistent and subjectively better flavour in the coffee.

Sage Barista Pro (built-in Baratza grinder) – worth upgrading to a separate grinder?
Owning a Sage Barista Touch and a separate grinder i can under special circumstances recommend switching to a separate grinder- there are improvements in the grind-quality (due to finer settings) and taste. I switchted to a Eureka Mignon Specialita, but with the idea in mind to upgrade someday to a

No Flow Rate with Brew by Weight
Yes, the Eureka Mignon Specialita is widely considered the gold standard for mid-range home espresso grinders, particularly if you prefer a hopper-based workflow over single-dosing. It is best known for its near-silent operation, compact industrial design, and commercial-grade 55mm flat burrs that p
