Here's the score. AMD ditched DDR4 with the release of their Rembrandt 6000 series and Intel integrated graphics with processors supporting DDR4 tend to fall below 3200MHz Radeon Vega 8. Minisforum and GMKtec are about the only Chinese brands that sell barebones mini PCs. Considering what a 5700G co

Thanks for the welcome! My hardware is a GMKtec M5 Plus mini-pc. It's underpowered compared to modern PC's. Silvie is a python script that just got out of control. I used VSCode as my IDE, and Claude 3.5, ChatGPT 4.0 and mostly Gemini 2.5 to code her. She's 6608 lines long. She should be re-coded an

If memory serves me, the CyberGeek Nano L1 is manufactured by GMKtec, a re-badged/cased NucBox M5 Pro, which GMKtec replaced with the more powerful NucBox M5 Plus last year. Ryzen 7 5700U vs Ryzen 7 5825U CPU Comparison. In short, the Nano L1 is as reliable as its GMKtec equivalent. The 2020 Lucienn

In a nutshell, DDR4 supported iGPU performance is suffering in 2025, even though GCN 5th Gen Radeon RX Vega 8 integrated graphics can still hold their own (5700U, 5800H, 5825U, etc). The increased data throughput of DDR5 & RDNA2 advancements have even provided Ryzen 5 APUs a significant advantage 57

The issue with "Future Proof" PCs is choosing CPUs from 2020-2021 with DDR4 memory & PCIe 3.0 data support. Of the APUs above, the 5825U is the most powerful with the greatest graphics performance, although it took a "quick backseat" once the next generation arrived the following year. RAM is an imp

I also have no problems with the K8 Plus or K11. I also have a GMKtec M5 Plus, and I'm very satisfied with all the models I have. The design of the K8 Plus and K11 is particularly good, with excellent access to the CPU cooler, and they also ensure good ventilation.

Posso estar errado, mas penso que no início deste ano o u/Mr_Nelson_A disse neste subreddit que tinha debaixo de olho a gmktec, minisforum e outras marcas. A gmktec já está à venda. Falta minisforum. Ele que diga algo. In Nelson we trust. Adoro o meu gmktec m5 plus. Está a servir de servidor linux par

If you're replacing a Raspberry Pi, literally anything. If you're concerned about TDP, find a 'U' CPU. Ryzen 3500U, 5825U, 7730U (latter two effectively the same chip) are cheap and 15W (or if not by default, can be set there). https://www.gmktec.com/products/gmktec-g10-amd-ryzen-5-3500u-mini-pc?spm

Something with the AMD Radeon 760M, 780M or 890M iGPU if you want an enjoyable gaming experience, as my Gmktec K8+ is a little powerhouse for both steam games & retro emulation Gmktec K11, Minisforum UM790, & Beelink SER8 are also regularly mentioned on this sub if money is tight Beelink SER5, Gmkte

Thanks for sharing. I'll need to see how my GMKtec M5 Plus with 5825u stacks up. It did ship with dual channel ram and decent thermal paste and heatsink and a tiny 40x10mm fan cooling the SSD and ram.
