Can I have a google mesh node connected to a different brand
google/nest wifi point needs a google/nest wifi router to work. 3rd gen nest wifi stuff is not backwards compatible with 1st or 2nd gen, id suggest the 2nd gen router.

Can I cancel my current service and sign up for new one at the same adddress just to get newer free equipment (Nest Pro)?
The nest pros aren’t new at all and currently do not get used. You want to get the wifi6e equipment at least. The google WiFi and nest pros are only used for half-gig and under plans which are on their way out as far as I know

If you are using Google WiFi white pucks (1st gen). Then highly recommend installing OpenWRT on it since Goo

Google Point Stops Working
Looks like there is too much interference for the mesh node to connect via 5ghz reliability at 12 meters. turn your ISP issued router to bridge mode and let your main Google Wifi be the router. (If it's just a modem it'll already be in bridge mode. If you don't know what any of this means, just chec
