I've got a JBL Flip Five and its great. Small enough to fit in a purse or backpack but big enought to create good sound. Reasonably priced as well.

On a related note: I recently bought a JBL flip5 speaker for my apartment (can't afford a really nice sound system). This thing is amazing, especially the way it reproduces bass. I'm hearing subtleties I've never heard before.
