Using a GR III for a community newspaper: Great tool or too niche for beginners?

I agree with others that having people use the camera they're familiar with (i.e., their smartphones) and emailing or dropping those images into a shared folder is your safest bet. For a shared camera, I would get something with fewer exposed features, less tedious controls, better battery life, and

Digital Camera with Flip Screen Recommendations

The SB-800 is fully iTTL and CLS compatible. Actually, it's fully compatible with every Nikon from the F to the Z9 with the maximal automation on each body. The only missing feature is radio controlled CLS that's only found in the SB-5000. It'd be hilariously topheavy on a Z30 though.

Z30 Upgrade Question

Thanks! Yeah, you hit the nail on the head. I love my little Z30, it’s practically weightless and I’ve taken lots of great shots with it. I’d happily jump to a Z50ii or possibly just keep the Z30 if it had IBIS, just so I can confidently use S lenses on it and not worry about shaky video, telephoto

Camera Recommendation for High Altitude

I have the Nikon Z30, would guess the Z50ii is a better pick. I attach the the 16-50mm and take the the 50-250mm when the visibility is good. I took it several times > 4000m. Sometimes I take a 13mm of Viltrox, to take landscape pictures after sunset. I take an extra battery for cold days. I place t

Smallest, lightest Nikon body as backup to Z8?

It’ll be perfect then. It really handles just like any other Expeed 7 Nikon. I’m using the 26/2.8 with it now, but I’d rather have the DX 24/1.7 (I had it on my Z30 before and enjoyed it).

Are there any recommendations for a camera for travelling?

I have a Nikon Z30 (and a Z6iii). Really like the Z30 for its small size, and it’s good at stills and video. I have the 26mm lens which makes a nice small package. And you can also buy 12-28mm lens which versatile and still small. So I’d go with the z30 and the 12-28mm lens. You can use it on auto m

Need help with ergonomics of Sony a6000

Also it's not like the battery life is absolutely terrible, it's the same as Canon R100, R50 and actually better battery life than the Nikon Z30, Z50 ii (and yeah it's actually shameful that a 12 year old Sony mirrorless has the same battery life as your relatively new offerings in 2026). The camera

Does my mantra about doing photos and videos simultaneously make sense?

I had a Nikon Z30 that kept separate settings when switching between photo and video mode. I loved it, I wish my Gh5s or S5 did the same. I tried googling what cameras could but Im dumb and didnt know what to exactly search for.

Z30 Upgrade Question

You have stumbled on the one big Nikon DX issue. Not having ibis. I have the same grief with my z30. But will holdout for at least another 2 years before considering getting anything new (I have a minimum 5 year buy camera rule). But even with not having ibis or a viewfinder I still love the camera

Mounting adapter for a red dot sight on my camera

I was looking at buying a Nikon z30 mirrorless for $700 until I realized it didn't have a view finder. The z50 with the view finder is $1200. If this hack was a working alternative it could be interesting but I think I'd still have problems with framing.
