Beginner camera for street + nature

I 100% agree with the MFT route! Cameras like the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV or Lumix GX85 are perfect for this use case. The bodies and lenses are super compact, so hindi nakakahiya o nakaka-intimidate ilabas for street photography. At the same time, you have the flexibility to swap to a telephoto

Amateur birder getting into photography

I second this! I also recently got into birding and then just purchased a camera. As a total beginner I got the OM-D E-M10 mark iv body paired with the Olympus 75-300mm II 4.8-6.7 M.Zuiko Lens used. It's definitely an entry level body and lens but I love it. I particularly appreciate that the zoom l

How necessary is stabilization?

Having had cameras with IBIS (Olympus E-M10 IV) and cameras (D500, and a bunch of film cameras) without it I will never buy a digital camera without it again. It has pretty much replaced my tripod and I only need it for shots over 1/2 a second. As for the whole stopping motion thing the other commen

BMPCC4K Still good?

I got my BMPCC4k a year ago and i love it. I don't recommend it for handheld work, but you can complement it with much lighter options from Olympus / OM system and share glass. I recently got a (basically brand new) E-M10iv for under $400 on ebay and it is turning out to be the perfect companion. I

Looking at making the switch to M43 for birds and general photography

Do you mean the EM10IV? I would recommend you to look at older EM5 and EM1 models as they have PDAF, which makes a big difference for birds in flight and other genres of photography that need AFC. A used EM1ii can be had for cheaper than that and is still an excellent camera. Or if you want a smalle

Deciding on 1st Camera | Why M43?

Hey guys, I am pretty novice and use my smartphone for pictures. Nothing wrong with that of course, but I am looking to get something for my GF and I for future travels and just pictures in general (Portraits, family photos, food, etc).

I am the type to read a lot into stuff before deciding so I c

Comparing M43s (LUMIX G9 vs. OM E-M10iii vs. Sony a6400)

Have the E-m10iii and G9. G9 is no contest. Yes, it's larger, but if you have a camera bag, it's generally fine for either. The em10iii can be slung over your shoulder and carried everywhere - My wife does this. She never changes her lens though - a 20mm f1.7 ii - so it's always a light crossbody sl

Is e-m5 m3 worth today?

As someone that owns and M5iii and an OM-1 I'll say I think it definitely is worth owning still just with a few caveats. It obviously falls a little short of continuous AF performance of newer cameras but it still does ok for CAF on people as long as it isn't sports or really young kids running like

How much better stabilization will give the OM-5 compared to the e-m10 iv to the 12-45mm f/4 PRO in practical terms (how slow in the shutter I can go for a given focal lenght)?

Whatever you decide on, definitely get the 12-45 f4 Pro, it is sharper at F4 than almost any lens in the M4/3 mount (apart from the F1.2 primes, I believe). I've easily been able to achieve >1s shutter speeds throughout that entire focal range with an EM 1 Mark 1 (not as good in terms of IBIS as the

Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV - Opinions for a first timer on a budget?

So I'm trading up from an almost twenty year old digital camera (well, and a cameraphone). I'm looking to get back into photography as a hobby after time away. Mostly looking to do urban images with some nature work when the opportunity arises. Long-time amateur but someone who wants to learn more.
