If using an ssd in a regular ps4 make sure the drive has cache memory and self trim like Samsung 870 evo drives otherwise it’ll just get slower over time and kill the drive . This is because unlike the Xbox ps4 os cannot perform these functions , I learned that the hard way.

The biggest performance upgrade IMO is replacing the HDD with a SSD. Watch out for cheap SSDs though, they likely will not have a DRAM cache, the unbranded or obscure branded ones particulary.
