Looks like Thinkpad L14, Lenovo’s “budget” Thinkpad will cost the same as Framework Laptop 13 Pro for identical CPU, SSD and RAM specs.
Storage prices are absolutely insane and that's even in the lens of modern RAM pricing trends. I was at Micro Center last week and saw a 2.5" Samsung 870 Evo 4tb for $2070.

Samsung 870 EVO sees another ~50% price increase shortly after they already increased prices 100% on Samsung.com!
Just bought a 4TB 870 Evo on Amazon for a client for ~$1,250. Felt like I was paying with my actual skin.

4TB 990 EVO Plus on Amazon right now for £525, but that 2.5” 4TB 870 EVO is up for £839. That’s just wild, what the hell.

Kingston shipped 100 million A400 SSDs and SATA still refuses to die
Once pricing falls again, it'll be great to have a big SSD expansion, especially when you have no more m.2, that isn't their awful QVO drives. (Which I have one of. It's great but also oof.) Then again, before prices went boom, we did finally start getting 8TB M.2 that were also starting to approach

Exactly. Seagate's 4tb 2.5 HDD is over TEN TIMES cheaper than Samsung's 4tb 870 EVO. At least there is still an option for cheap bulk storage.

Want to sell my PC. Would love to get a rough estimate from you all
Yup, I have a couple of 2.5" SATA drives. I have a Samsung EVO 870 500GB that I use for my OS/boot drive and a 1TB Lexar NQ100 which I use for games. Then I have three NVMe's, a 2TB & a 1TB are my mains and a 512GB one that I use in an external USB enclosure. There's basically no difference in gamin

Can someone help me with buying a storage card?
Check what slot type you have first, M.2 NVMe, M.2 SATA, or 2.5 are all different. Once you know that, Samsung 870 EVO for SATA or Kingston NV2 for NVMe are both reliable and cheap.

So you traveled in time to 2026 to buy them? The 8TB version only came out this year as Samsung wanted to make hay while the world is b
