It's not about "trying to force" anything on HDR. It's about having a proper accurate SDR-to-HDR tonemap. SDR content shouldn't be messed up just because HDR is enabled in settings. Not for me on the Odyssey Neo G7, if set to Full, it will mistakenly clip max brightness of HDR at 1600 nits or so, when my monitor is supposed to max at 1000 or so nits (on Limited, it is 1060 nits. On my PC where there is no Limit or Full setting in the OSMenu, it clips at around 1020). HGIG on on

Samsung VA is the only real except. My Odyssey G7 1440p 240hz (no miniled) has no black smear. It does have worse VRR flicker than my OLED tho which is weird.
