Is this an accurate representation of the difference in color science between Canon's and Sony's newest camera bodies? (Images 2-5 were taken with my Canon R8. Context below)
So a lot of folks have talked about color science not being a "thing" or that you can always fix the colors in post. This may be a hot take for this sub but I have switched systems multiple times because of color science and it absolutely makes a difference. When you're shooting people and the color

My silver nose 50mm f1.4 doing a nice job on my Sony
I had a sony a700 and used minolta lenses, they are nice too. They create beautiful stars in water.I was using a Olympus Om2 when i was younger, i guess that is wheremy interest for Zuiko started. I changed to Nikon D1, a nice camera withgood image quality but only 2.7 mp images but that was state of

Is there anyone who has used both Sony and Olympus cameras?
I have the a6300, a7ii and a7r4. On the Olympus side, I have the OM-1.ii and E-P7. I don't use the kit lens on the Olympus cameras - I mostly use the 12-40/2.8 PRO. The Sony kit lens is shit, and the kit lenses I have for my older Olympus cameras are excellent, and so are samples I've seen online fo

Is this an upgrade or a downgrade?
Well, as said, it’s not that the first gen A7 is inherently bad with AF, it’s definetly way under the later versions (th A7II is a BOG upgrade in that compartment). Is a really different way of shooting than a DSLR and needs some getting used to. IMHO, if I were to go on a lighter everyday carry, I

Considering switching Nikon to canon
I would have to agree... maybe. I have owned DSLRs (nikons and canons). My first MILC was the A7II followed by the A7III. As soon as canon came out with an MILC in the form of the R I jumped ship. I have to admit that there are a few expectations I had for Canon that disappointingly did not material

Camera recommendation for video work.
The list is endless. What are you recording on now? Recording video in 830nm and 590nm will be fun. A couple filters and all will be fun fun fun. If I were thinking specific full-frame cameras, I would probably choose a Canon 5D MarkIII. I use a full spectrum Sony A7ii, but I have a lot of vintage l

Thinking to get into Nikon Z.
Z6 has a bad evf Z6 has the best EVF of it's generation - it's size and optics are highly competetive today. Refresh rate is 60hz. MF lenses can be adapted to Z system but it’s suboptimal, A7ii/iii is more cost effective but you can even adapt PK to Fujifilm gfx, longer then 35mm, the 50s and 50r ar

Choosing my system, M43 or APS-C, and what lens?
I shoot Olympus exclusively for the last four years, after ditching my Nikon D750 fullframe for a Olympus E-M1 II. Never regretted it. The big plus for me in the Olympus cameras you have as options ist the weathersealing in conjunction with the 12-50! This combo can withstand basically anything comp
