An S1ii costs less than an FX3 and outperforms it. If I didn't have Sony glass I'd take that over an FX3 or FX30 any day (I'm still shooting Sony with over 1k paid gigs done on an a7siii/FX3 so not a Panasonic shill, just being objective)

Saying an fx3 let alone an fx30 delivers a better image than a ursa g2 is so far from reality. The Ursa has one of the best latitudes for a S35 sensor, build in ND's, RAW flexibility and overall a better user interface. The image quality outperforms both the fx3 and fx30 in lab tests. Same issue on FX3, FX30, Burano... Sony doesn't want you to use anamorphic unless you're using a Venice and paying them a license for anamorphic firmware. There are other quirks you might encounter shooting anamorphics on Sony bodies, but don't expect them to fix them

Sony not creating an FX-3II is a big mistake. Nikons ZR will have the ZR pro version, will blow FX-30 away. LUMIX has some super video cams,then kineinfinity now, really interesting. Canon just came out with something… Sony is great, I’m a Sony shooter. Though for video maybe something else.

The price is laughable considering this is a glorified A7IV that's priced significantly more. Still no open gate, only 4K60 at S35 crop in 2025? Sony FX-30 just for apsc lens selection. Note that it doesn’t have a mech shutter and can’t do flash afaik. You can still take photos.
