NAS. Buy or build?

Just know that the mobo/CPU combo is OLD. Nothing wrong with old, but it won't have the latest tech in terms of jellyfin encoding. It will have slower ports like USB 2.0 and slower sata and maybe not even NVME. It will also pull down MUCH more power than a newer device. You can get a N100/N150 mini

Just got my DH2300 and hard drives.

System is pretty good as far as accessing movie files remotely. If you’re using it as a file server and just playing the movie with no transcoding pretty much any NAS will work. I read people attaching a storage device to their router and that works too for this purpose. But if you want hardware tra

I was the community representative at CES. AMA

Damn that’s big. So yeah, I tried to ask the rest of the community with Reddit and discord for some feedback, but you are right, I could’ve made a post telling that I was going to CES to get even more feedback. That was a mistake. If I get invited next year (or any of the community representatives),

What NAS are you all using?

My first foray into NAS and media servers so went the cheap(ish) plug and play route with a Ugreen DH2300 and 2x4TB drives I had inherited. Docker isn’t natively supported on this model so had to mess around with it to get it to work. It’s working fine for what I’m using it for at the moment but I’m

Immich uses all ram and completely freezes my nas

Docker is fine with the DH2300 it just depends what you're running in Docker. I run a couple of lighter services and have no issue. Running Immich on the DH2300 with 4GBs of soldered ram and RK3576 was the problem. People buy the cheapest Ugreen NAS product and then are shocked to see it can't run s

Rclone on NASync DH2300

Currently, there is no native rclone solution available on UGREEN NAS devices. However, you can deploy rclone using a Docker container by following the guidance provided in the forum or on YouTube (Provided by 3rd party). Please note that the DH2300 does not officially support Docker due to limited

Recommendation for an upgrade of a 15 year old NAS

I went from a DS213 to the dh2300. So a similarish situation as you’re currently in. I can pretty much do anything I could need: photo backups (local AI identification and facial recognition etc.) (also an option to easily remove all duplicate photos (and files). — unlike the dxp models, you cannot

Is DH2300 enough for plex/jellyfin

I currently use Jellyfin on my dh2300, it handles it perfectly, even with tailscale for remote use. I warn you that you'll need to install the docker app manually, as it's not available in ugreen store for the dh2300.

Dh2300 does not support docker but....

Select the DH4300 Plus from the ugreen website, download the Docker app, load it onto your DH2300, and you're done. It works perfectly. https://nas.ugreen.com/pages/downloads

UGREEN NASync DH2300

The DH2300 is not indicated for Docker. It's really low on specs, if possible, buy a DXP2800. The Docker app is not avaliable anymore in Ugreen OS, they removed from DH2300. There's a workaround now, but who knows until when will be possible.
