I hope the XTeink team has reached out to you, because your converter is genuinely game changing for their efforts to break into the international market. They would do well to recognize it and support development of this tool. (If they’re reading this: you should send this person an X3 to help them

even better than a kindle, its an xteink x4. it’s pretty limited compared to a kindle but it’s perfect for simply reading and also the perfect size 😍

Why doesn't any company make a real barebones e-reader?
I would second recommendations for most Pocketbook devices or the Xteink X4. I totally get that the X4 is really small though, but it fits everything else. You may be interested in some DIY kits too. There's a whole other level of difficulty to it but, not only is it rewarding, you would get to know

would this be possible?
What I'd recommend in your situation is get a XTEINK X4 and try to build a flip case around it. It's a very cool tiny 50-60€ e-reader. Decorate it with an enclosure where the clamshell part would protect the device's screen, like on of those old flip out phone cases, just cooler. I feel like this is

Makes it can be a Kindle, Pocketbook, Kobo, Libby (using all accounts), it can be whatever you want including Koreader + no need to make file conversions. And it handles PDF files like a dream. Also comics and manga will be way s

Are really phone sized ereaders worth it? Can people use it daily and finish books in a regular basis?
i have read so many books on my smaller ereaders (former palma owner, own both the Xteink X4 and X3, as well as an Obook5). so long as you're okay with reading on the smaller screen, it's great to have something that's always in your pocket / bag / purse / on you in some way. Especially with the X4

Alright guys, what random cool gadgets are we asking for Father’s Day?
I have one already and love it, though thought you gents might like this idea: X4 pocket e-reader It's great since I'm trying to avoid screens around my 3 month old. This doesn't draw his attention, it has buttons to easily hold and turn pages in one hand. The only downside is no backlight, and it's

Sure, here's the github link. GitHub - daveallie/crosspoint-reader: Firmware for the Xteink X4 e-paper display reader. The developer is releasing almost daily updates. and flashing takes hardly 8-9 seconds.
