Toniebox Disappointment
I sold ours and bought a Yoto player lol. My little one could not figure out how to smack it at the right angle to change songs, and sometimes it would take me a few tries 🤦🏻♀️

Physically small but significant/meaningful gifts for 10 year old
It might seem a bit retro for her but what about a good old fashioned MP3 player and some decent headphones. Load it up with music and audiobooks. It's great for travelling and she could get years of use out of it before she gets a phone. She's maybe at the upper end of the age group for a Yoto but

I bought a yoto not realizing it required Wifi. I'm looking at the listing for it now and to find anything about Wifi, it's way down past the customer reviews and multiple banners and carousels: https://us.yotoplay.com/yoto-mini It's not the end of the world, but I think the device's reliance on wif

I got my son a Yoto player and like 10 cards to go with it and spent maybe $120-150 on all of that and the player itself was like half of that after Black Friday deals.. how many effing cards is $2k?!

Can someone explain why Yoto is this popular? The hype feels a bit over the top to me.
You can make your own Yoto cards, as a compromise to having to invent hardware and software that doesn’t exist. https://us.yotoplay.com/make-your-own

There’s similar ones for the Yoto Player lol. I think someone posted the screen shot of someone saying they spent $2k on their Yoto so far? Like how can your kid even have time to listen to that many cards before they age out of them? It’s a weird parenting flex to brag about how much money you wast

Yoto player vs Tonie
We got the Toniebox and Yoto at the same time. My daughter loves the Toniebox and hardly ever touches the Yoto. It’s really what they (and you!) prefer. For example, some parents think it’s essential to be able to control the player on their phone. While I prefer having my daughter do it all (she do

Is there a portable music player that plays Spotify?
You could get a Yoto player with make-your-own cards, and load the playlists onto the cards for him to use. It’s much more limited than Spotify, though.

Birthday gift for 3yo boy
Jumped on the yoto player train. My 3yo has not been interested. The best I get out of the thing is - she likes to listen to it when in the bath. Otherwise, she prefers just playing with her toys and making her own sounds.

Yoto player vs Tonie
Dude, get the CD player. It’s less portable, but way more fun. And as you mentioned, you can use any old CD. We have a Yoto and I enjoy it. But our kid doesn’t seem to get the appeal. They only play with it when we prompt and I’m really the only one who gets excited about new cards. They don’t use i
