Resin printing "arms race" over?

Same as before. Expect 12 months between cycles. This year was odd, printers got released on a shorter cycle. The Saturn 4 Ultra 16K was probably supposed to be the Saturn 5, but Elegoo released it early (only 7-8 months after the Saturn 4/4 Ultra). Probably because Uniformation was releasing the 16

Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra 16k - Water Washable

I'll just assume it bots or something, but for whatever reason, this thread is just filled with wrong answers. Well, technically the Wait time before print suggestion is correct, but is still useless because it fails to provide any guidelines for settings or why it works. Rest / Wait time is why you

Saturn 4 Ultra 16K, over a year of troubleshooting and I still can't fix it.

The S4U springloaded plate means that wait times are even more mandatory than regular printers. The light turns on way before the resin has settled and the springs have found home. This means you get a layer thicker than supposed especially at 20um, your bottom layers are probably closer to 0.5 or e

What is the BambuLab A1 of resin printing?

At the price point, the Saturn 4 Ultra 12k or 16k are $800-1200 of machine for $400-500. It and Heygears (at that $1200+ price point) do the most to absolve the user of tuning a dozen speeds and feeds for the Z-axis movement / release & retract cycle. Heygears does this by having their slicing and p

New to Resin - which saturn?

Generally speaking the Saturn 4 Ultra 16k is the best option for most people. I investigated and wrote the original post explaining the 3-bit grayscale deficiency and it is still present. I also bought a S4U 16k and subsequently worked out a dithering method with UVTools to restore a significant por

Looking to replace my current printers. Need input from professionals

Yeah Anycubic long term support is ass. I own an M3 Premium and they ended support for them almost 2 years ago, yet I can still order parts (other than LCDs) for my Saturn 2s from Elegoo... which are the same age as the M3 Premium. Heygears is supposed to open up some of their settings later this ye

Prints are good, but the supports are too hard to remove.

I just acquired my saturn 4 ultra 16k, and I'm loving it so far, but I'm having a weird problem. the prints themselves are coming out great, but the supports are coming out too hard (there's a joke somewhere around here). I tried reducing the exposure time to see if it solves the problem, but I got

Anycubic vs Elegoo for beginner printers?

I have a Mars 4 (same screen) that makes amazing prints. The 5 has the benefit of faster printing due to the tilting vat. I only own Elegoo printers so can't speak to anything else. I found the Mars 4 fairly easy to approach. It doesn't matter what brand you get, the basic principles of resin printi

Prints failing to stick to the plate - Saturn 4 Ultra

Not sure why the thread is all bad advice, but the biggest fix for poor adhesion with the Saturn 4 Ultra 12k* is Rest After Retract (Chitubox) / Wait time before cure (UVTools) for the first 10-20 layers. This is because the automatic leveling and spring-loaded build plate fail to settle the build p

How to make details *sharper*?

I think the anti-aliasing is the big culprit for smudging details. The Saturn 4 ultra doesn't need anti-aliasing, especially with their 8k resin. The details will be crisp and sharp. AA will remove that sharpness. It is useful if you're printing transparent, to prevent cloudiness, because then those
