As an epix pro 2 user am I missing out on anything specific to a Fenix?

The epix gen 2 is basically a renamed fenix 7 but in AMOLED. I have the fenix 7 pro sapphire solar mip, wife has the epix gen 2, and they are identical in every way except for screen technology and solar. The fenix 7 did not come in AMOLED, they released that version as the epix. For the fenix 8 lin

Buy fenix 8 or wait for fenix 9

I’m waiting, the 8 processor is so slow and dated. The screen takes longer to turn on than my Epix gen 2 (non pro) does. IMO it’s half baked for what they cost these days. That being said, if I needed a new Garmin right now I would still buy it lol.

After some thinking, I went Tactical

This is the really good looking smart-watch, it really resembles a G-Shock. I got an Epix 2 Pro two years ago when moving from Apple Watch - I wanted to keep the 'bright AMOLED screen'. My next one will be either the Instinct 3 Tactical (or 4, 5, 6 as I intend to wear my Epix until it dies). Only do

Best Garmin Watch for MTB

Yeah I am a fellow Epix Gen 2 user and very happy with it for MTB, hiking and pool swimming as my main activities. The AMOLED screen is particularly good for clarity I find. My friend has the enduro 2 and he rates it for MTB also.

"Solar is gimmick on MIP Fenix" 🤣

The AMOLED watches are perfectly visible in sunlight. DCrainmaker has said as much in countless videos of his to point of it not being a valid reason not to get AMOLED. Also they're better now than with the original Epix Gen 2 (which I have incidentally having had an F3, F5 and F6X). The latest micr

Does GPS work better on newer models?

Well after the fenix 7 pro / Epix gen 2 pro the Epix is no more, it has become the Fenix Amoled. Personally I’m happy with the amoled screens, although I use a very minimalistic watchface. I’d recommend a Fenix 8 and if somewhat on a budget a Fenix 7 pro / Epix gen 2 pro. Amoled vs MIP is just about

From Forerunner 955 to Pace

Honestly, having bounced between COROS and Garmin… I suggest looking for Garmin certified refurbs. They look like new and have a full warranty with Garmin.I just picked up an Epix Pro (Gen 2) Sapphire for $380 USD delivered! Why COROS didn’t work for me: After a a few weeks I found small annoyances t

Dumped the Apple Watch for 265S, I’m in love!

I too dumped my apple watch se and bought an Epix Pro Gen 2. Didn't expect how massive a 51mm watch face would be LOL So I returned it for the 265s and soooo happy with it. IMO small watch faces for small wrists are the way to go!

Have have Epix Pro Gen 2 and see no reason to upgrade. It’s basically the Fenix 7 but with an AMOLED screen. The Fenix 8 just has the speaker/mic and updated UI.

getting back into swimming

Just so you know, I personally find Apple Watch (at least AWU which I have) is more accurate than my Garmin (Epix Gen 2) for lap timing and count, with the benchmark being coach-timed/counted. But I much prefer Garmin displays and Garmin Connect app to Apple Fitness/Watch display, so I mostly use Ga
