Really disappointed in the S9 build quality
Panasonic built the S9 to a price point. For a reason. The fact that it has sold more than any other FF camera says enough.

Why does Panasonic pump out premium m43 cameras but make the S9 so cheap and plastic?
It keeps the price down so they can target a budget segment, first time buyers, or people using it as a second camera. Every manufacturer doesn't have to cover every segment of the market. The S9 at this point is unmatched value for someone wanting a full frame hybrid especially if they lean more to

If the X100VI and the Lumix S9 had a baby with a 40mm f2 lens - would you buy this? 📸
I personally wouldn’t want fixed lens. The S9 has huge potential and I’m sure Panasonic will make it even better with the S9ii. I’d rather they take inspiration from the GX series. It needs a grip!

Lumix has 10% of the European Full Frame market and is growing
I got my S9 body with an extra battery for 900€ on sale. I was planning on getting another Fujifilm camera until I saw that I could save 500€ and enter the full frame market. Was never really considering Lumix until I saw the price, and so far I’ve been blown away with the S9. Safe to say, I’ll be s

Direction of the Fujifilm as a company / system
Considering there will always be more hobbyists than pros, I don’t think that’s really the issue. The camera companies can’t exist without them and the sales numbers will always skew more towards hobbyists than pros solely because of the sheer number of camera consumers as a whole vs working profess

Lumix S 28-200mm vs Sigma 20-200mm ?
The Sigma 20-200 both looks and feels stupid and unnatural on the S9 body specifically. For that reason I’d go with the Lumix 28-200, which feels “right”er. Here’s a pic with the S9 + Sigma 20-200 at full extension so you can see what I mean:

Lumix has 10% of the European Full Frame market and is growing
I could have bought a x100vi fujifilm but bought a s9 instead with better lens. The key here is value. The moment they pump prices up with same product the value proposition drops and sales go down. Lumix needs to keep this balance of offering comparable products for less than competition and if the

The Lumix S9 with the 18-40 is one of the most underrated combos ever.
Matt from Lumix recently stated the camera has far exceeded their expectations in terms of sales. It’s a really popular item for them. I got one myself recently, mainly to use as a EDC for video and to be able to take the occasional higher quality picture. Background: I started my Lumix journey with

How common is the Lumix S9 rear dial malfunction really?
The rear dial on my S9 became less and less responsive starting a couple of months after I purchased it despite what I would consider considerate use. That said I filed a warranty claim, received a shipping label, shipped the camera to a Panasonic repair center, had it repaired and returned to me al
