What do you think of this new Cinema camera?
I shoot on Sigma FP L, pretty much the smallest full frame cinema camera existing, the autofocus on that thing is non existent, but it has electronic contacts for modern lenses, unlike this GoPro, I just don't know how your friend is going to use this thing.

Smallest non-s9 l mount?
The Sigma FP and FP L are both smaller than the S9, but they have some quirks. No IBIS is a big one. Bad autofocus is another. I love my FP L, but it’s a very “special” little camera. Everyone saying there are no other options, need to google.

Is there a better compact full frame camera than Sony a7cii?
the a7cr is the direct higher end version of the a7cii, buy for most people the sensor is probably overkill and the rest is the same. so for you a7cii might just be the best option. the canon r8 is cheaper, slightly lighter and arguably more ergonomic, they are pretty similar but the a7cii has ibis

Looking for consolation -- Just bouth a new s9 literally 1 day before the L10 annoucement (no returns allowed in my country)...RIP?
2 totally different cameras. And depending on your needs the S9 is a great compromise. It's one of the smallest FF options and it has good AF (the sigma fp-L being smaller but has slow AF). If you want FF the S9 is one of the best compact options because lumix also makes wonderful compact lens optio

S9 Banding
Idk if the S9 has "detection" for this, but I went through this with the Sigma FP, also without a mechanical shutter. It was incredibly awful at detecting it, so for anything indoors I just set it to Shutter priority and kept it at 1/60 or 1/125 (for faster motion) and never had issues (Or whatever

Lumix S9 Long-term Review (2nd Review after 400+ days)
V1 is amazing if you like wide angles. I love them so it’s a perfect fit for me. I’ve carried a nex5 with 16mm, x70, nex5 win 10-18 then 10-20, xm5 with 10-18 sigma and the s9 with the 18-40 all skiing. And I had the sigma fp-L which I loved but AF forced me to the S9. I’ve also skied with full blow
