What do you think of this new Cinema camera?

I shoot on Sigma FP L, pretty much the smallest full frame cinema camera existing, the autofocus on that thing is non existent, but it has electronic contacts for modern lenses, unlike this GoPro, I just don't know how your friend is going to use this thing.

Smallest non-s9 l mount?

The Sigma FP and FP L are both smaller than the S9, but they have some quirks. No IBIS is a big one. Bad autofocus is another. I love my FP L, but it’s a very “special” little camera. Everyone saying there are no other options, need to google.

Lumix s1r2e camera rumor

How is this e-model worse than the S1R II proper? Man I hope it's more a sigma fp-l vs Leica SL3 interpretation :)

Is there a better compact full frame camera than Sony a7cii?

the a7cr is the direct higher end version of the a7cii, buy for most people the sensor is probably overkill and the rest is the same. so for you a7cii might just be the best option. the canon r8 is cheaper, slightly lighter and arguably more ergonomic, they are pretty similar but the a7cii has ibis

Smallest non-s9 l mount?

Not a lumix body but the Sigma FP and Sigma FPL are l-mount and smaller. They have a lot of drawbacks but yeah just putting it on your radar if you didn’t already know about them!

RICOH gr thirtieth anniversary. After years of shooting film and taking too long of a break, I think it’s time to buy one.

I wish they’d make an update GXR! Would be amazing to use a sensor on par with the one in GR IV with M-mount lenses in that compact format. I’ve been sort of doing that with a Sigma fp L, but it’s a bit big/heavy still and not really a compact tbh

Looking for consolation -- Just bouth a new s9 literally 1 day before the L10 annoucement (no returns allowed in my country)...RIP?

2 totally different cameras. And depending on your needs the S9 is a great compromise. It's one of the smallest FF options and it has good AF (the sigma fp-L being smaller but has slow AF). If you want FF the S9 is one of the best compact options because lumix also makes wonderful compact lens optio

Pocketable camera with LOG (or RAW) for street shooting and color grading practice?

i feel you on wanting something truly pocketable. the original bmpcc is small but still kinda chunky for a jacket pocket honestly. for actual pocketable size with log, check the sony zv-e10 - it has s-log and fits in large pockets. the canon g7x iii also shoots canon log and disappears in a jacket.

Is the S1 actually big or exaggerated?

I liked S1/S1R form factor. Heavier but good grip and felt like tanks. Newer bodies feel like toys compared to them. I now have a Z8 and it feels quite close to S1 bodies - bigger and heavier. I prefer larger over smaller. They seem to balance better with larger lenses. At one point I also had Sigma
