It's really annoying that they seem to be abandoning the flying gantry so none of the advancements made here will be able to be ported back to older printers. I don't see them offering an official toolchanger upgrade path now for those units (you'll need to install an INDX or other toolchanger DIY).

I'd say a SV08 greatly benefits from Mainline + Eddy + Triangle Labs or Microswiss Hotend. This with some good macros gets you 90% of the way. Then f.e. a case + chamber heating for some more challenging filaments like ABS/ASA or similar. Lastly INDX or Stealthchanger if you want multimaterial.

I backed the U1 simply because snapmaker is a well established company. Did the same with the Sovol SV08 Max. I’m also really looking forward to fitting the Bondtech INDX on the SV08 Max. I can only imagine how many extrusion heads I’ll be able to fit in that thing. (Slaps roof)

Sovol used an open source design for its sv08 which means it requires a lot of tinkering and it’s loud and slow and ugly

Well you're certainly never going to beat the upgradeability of a Voron. But in most other ways... It sounds like you want to go with the SV08. The only official mini voron is the 0.2. (and technically the 0.1 I guess) idk much about "engineering materials", but no voron uses a chamber heater. Honest question, why not use a sovol tool head? I have the zero which uses a CAN board and has an eddy on it. It prints like a charm. I’m relatively sure there’s an official upgrade for the SV08 that brings it up to the same style (I think maybe the max uses the new style too).
