Switching to Lumix S1RII (or S1II) for professional photography?
I personally went with the s1ii and having come from a canon r6ii I find the AF performance quite similar in real-world use, and the canon r6ii is an AF beast so that's quite the praise for the s1ii. It handles candid shots of moving subjects extremely well even in low light it holds focus very impr

Dance photos
I’m a professional theatre and Ballet shooter, my wide camera (24-70) has to stay at f/5.6 and as slow of a SS as needed to stop most of the motion so a minimum of 160. My iso lives on auto. My darkest plays can hit iso 25,600. On my 70-200 camera I’m allowed to shoot all the way down to f/2.8 and s

Which camera to get after being a Canon SLR guy
Hate to say it, but Canon R6ii with a little prime lens and the new Godox IT30pro mini ETTL flash on the adjustable flash riser freaking rocks. I use it for fill and to trigger a big Godox V100 or AD200 off camera key light as needed. The RF 50mm F1.8 stm is as good as the EF 50mm F1.2L when you sto

How much difference does drizzling make?
Please understand what an anti-alias filter does. People use very short focal lengths with very sharp lenses, e.g. Milky Way photography and produce images with round stars with accurate color. The OPs Canon R6II has anti-alias filters and produces good star images at any focal length and lens sharp

Back to Nikon - hooray!
The irony is that I had that exact complaint 12 years ago; I was running dance photography workshops as part of a (contemporary) dance festival I was running, and I’d hired a lot of cameras for participants. High ISO handling was featured with these Canon models, but I found I was having to use insa

Is Fujifilm enough for a career in photography?
The speed of AF dpends on the lens, but accuracy is on the camera and in this regard Fuji is not as good as others. I own an X-T2 and an X-T5 and both struggle focusing on low light but the X-T2 hunts more. If you are getting paid substantially for the job I would consider getting a Sony or Canon. M

Bird photography while hiking
I'll pipe in here. I'm another geologist who's also an avid photographer. I have shot Canon for a while, moving from a 80D to a 5DIV to mirrorless with a R6 and now an R5 (Careful.... gear acquisition can be contagious). However, for the small, light and compact lenses there are very few. I went on

Best portrait lens for EF ~$200?
Please help, I'm looking for the prime for portraits with focus quick enough for sport. R6II, adapter available. I'm not who you asked, but if the Canon EF 135mm f2L has enough reach for you, I recommend that lens. It's also relatively cheap on the used market for a Canon L-series lens. Pretty easy

Professional still cameras
I’m currently building my portfolio shooting in small venues with no camera restrictions. I just upgraded to a CanonR6mkII so I can shoot with no flash in the darkest dive bars in existence. For festivals with no photo pass I shoot from the crowd using a point and shoot with a crazy good zoom. Edite
