Dell S2725QS/S2725QC - pretty much the best value for money. The QC one is the newer model with the same panel (no upgrade) but comes with a main Type-C connector. Slightly more convenient for Mac. The QS is the exact same panel but older, with a main HDMI cable.

I got the DELL S2725QC for my wife’s photo work. It has very good performance right out of the box and I agree it’s a great budget monitor for the Mac.

i feel you on the scaling worry. macOS handles 4k at 1440p-equivalent scaling by default, so text isn't tiny - it just uses more pixels for sharper rendering. the qhd monitor will look a bit softer for text. for research and documents, the Dell 27 Plus 4K USB-C Monitor - S2725QC gives you crisper te
