Panasonic I beg you we need an updated GM1

You understand that as soon you add IBIS it will no longer be a “GM1 markll”… not even a “GM5 markII”. It needs to be thicker. In the dream land (Panasonic as any other company is ruled by their finances and bets that have profit) I would prefer them to make the possibly smallest IBIS+PDAF camera wi

Any Lumix Cameras Around $2000 That are Just as Good, If Not Better Than The Sony FX30?

Disclosure: I own the G9 II and shoot on GH7's and FX30's for work. I'm gonna have some bias towards the Panasonic offering so take this with a grain of salt. The G9 II is probably the closest you can get in the Lumix lineup at a cheaper price point. It's currently on sale at Amazon for 1.6k body on

S5iix or GH7 for family/travel videos?

I don't have the GH7, but I've got an S5iix. While I do love the camera and I knew that L mount lenses weren't quite as available as some of the competition (Sony in particular), I do feel like the amount of lenses available and the price of them is at least a bit more detrimental than I thought. Th

What kind of two-cameras setup would you favour for low-light events [documentary]? Any advice is welcome, please see the text too.

I saw a recent comparison of the IBIS of one of the latest Panasonic FF cameras vs the G9ii or GH7 and the person who did it reached the conclusion that that FF camera in particular had better IBIS. Considering how much tech has advanced, it might be more of an issue of Olympus vs Sony than m43 vs F

2 new Lumix cameras registered

What more could the GH8 actually add that the GH7 doesn’t already have? More resolution? Higher frame rates? On such a small Micro Four Thirds sensor, increasing resolution feels pointless. I think Panasonic has already extracted close to the maximum dynamic range possible from a sensor of this size

L10 size vs Pen F

Disagree. Lumix has released smaller and more "professional" cameras that Fuji did for years. The GM-5, GX9, and even the LX10 were years ahead of Fuji on most professional features inside and plenty of manual controls inside the tiniest of bodies. The lack of Phase-detect autofocus rather has been

Sports videography camera. Sony? Lumix? Others?

If you’re just sticking the camera on a tripod & having a wide shot with locked off focus - either camera will be fine technically. If you intend to follow the ball & zoom in etc, you’ll need PDAF so the lowest lumix would be a GH7, the m43 sensor will give good zoom capabilities for close ups at a

1” Sensors

This is Little Brother syndrome again from m43 users. These sensor size zealots seemingly exist in significantly larger numbers in the minds of m43 users than in actual reality. If people are genuinely celebrating these "1 inch" sensors then that's a bunch of people who aren't sensor size zealots. A

Overthinking: G9ii vs S5ii vs GH7 traveling and indoor shooting at higher frame rates

The S5II kit 20-60 isn't the sharpest wide open. It also isn't the fastest. The difference in DOF between Full frame and MFT is 2 stops of aperture. A Panasonic 10-25 F1.7 would actually give you a shallower depth of field and more light than the 20-60. But that is a big expensive lens, and the GH7

Colors and Image of the S1II compared to S1H, S1R2 and S5II

Good deals on shit sensors nobody wants. Panasonic clearly needed 4K 120 frames per second for GH7, and Sony wasn’t willing to make that chip.
