Why Use a Rangefinder?
historically the biggest reason to have them have been that they are just small cameras with small lenses while still producing the quality as good as other 35mm cameras. its still partly true to this day. the only competing cameras with rangefinders are either cameras without an evf and often lacki

Is there a better compact full frame camera than Sony a7cii?
the a7cr is the direct higher end version of the a7cii, buy for most people the sensor is probably overkill and the rest is the same. so for you a7cii might just be the best option. the canon r8 is cheaper, slightly lighter and arguably more ergonomic, they are pretty similar but the a7cii has ibis

The EV1 isn't for "bad eyes." It's for people tired of pretending their M photos are actually in focus.
Leicas are insanely expensive. But your assertion that the EV1 offers "something that you can get from almost every camera company out there" is simply untrue. I think there are only three compact 60MP cameras with interchangeable lenses available. - Sigma fpL. I owned this camera. I loved the size.

ZR metering…? Help!
Are fully stacked sensors also worse for DR? I didn't know that about partially stacked sensors. And can I ask where you found the actual DR numbers for the fp and ZR? I looked but the ZR seemed to be about video, and the fp seemed hearsay. And I'm going to try your - EV trick and see where it gets

I had the Visioflex 2 for my M11-P and the EVF for the Sigma fpL. I loved the articulation. But both are clunky and bulk up the camera. I think an important point here is also EVF resolution. As has been pointed out the M EV1's EVF resolution is not class leading. The Visioflex 2 is yet another step

You’re probably wondering how I ended up here..
Absolutely need and want full frame. I’m in low light environments more than anything else. I only recently got rid of my CL maybe 2 weeks ago. I had a great pocket setup with that and an adapted MS-Optus Appolloquia 28 2.8 / Steel Rim but more often than not I was struggling bc of light. I forget w

Camera Question: Rangefinder vs SLR
Don’t really do close ups myself, and the few times I shoot macros I’d rather do it with my GFX or Sigma fp L, modern lenses are just too damn good and being able to really nail focus with a zoomable preview beats the charm of film for me.

HELP ME PLEASE
I have this exact swing-down v-mount system for my Sigma FP and it’s really cool, but keep in mind that the BMPCC 6K’s screen doesn’t flip out and possibly not “up” enough to clear the plate when in the vertical (shooting) position. it also might be a little lightweight for the BMPCC form factor, th

Directors Viewfinder for PL lenses
So, the Sigma FP may be an option. My mirrorless camera is definitely too big, I like the smaller FP as an option for this. But, this camera was released years ago, and there's not a whole lot of talk about it, so I'm wondering if it's worth it at this point.. like, does it have the viewfinder setti

What’s a good Director’s Viewfinder I can get myself?
I bought a Sigma FP once because it works as a good viewfinder but it never found its way into my workflow and I just stayed using Artemis. I STILL want a viewfinder because I think it'll focus me a little more and I just hate using my phone but I haven't stumbled on anything sooo....lmk if you find
