I'm rarely proud of a B/W edit, but this one I am - After/Before
It's just because of the default rendering of DxO, its contrast curve just happens to pull most of the image down. Here is what the default rendering from Capture One looks like : It's still a bit dark but it was definitely the intent. I took this shot with a Sigma fp, and most experienced owners o

Planning to make the jump from BMPCC 6K to FX3 - anyone make this jump and have advice?
I moved from the BMPCC6K Pro and Sigma FP to an FX3 and A7IV. The FP and 6K Pro both have stronger IQ than the FX3, which is why I originally got them, but I was running into a lot of issues as a solo filmmaker and content creator. Trying to film myself or any subject with non autofocusing cameras w

Lumix S9 or Sigma FP for everyday carry
I recommend YouTube. I spent a lot of time interested in Sigmas, FP, FPl, the new one. It seems to me almost entirely everyone I watch that even start out loving it moves on and has a lot of complaints.

I want to buy the C70, but I already have a camera - talk me out of it?
The Sigma FP is a great camera, I'd stick with it for a while longer if you can.

What is an unusual focal you enjoy for street?
I don’t think passion is what inspires people to tell other people they’re doing it wrong, I think it’s a desire for control and a sense of superiority, to be seen as correct. Passion is what you feel for doing your art or craft. But maybe they have a passion for ordering other people around! I just

What’s the difference in an Arri Alexa and a Sony fx3? In terms of the image.
A lot of people would say that with the exact same subject, lighting, and lens, it’s getting really hard to tell the difference between the FX3 (or really any consumer mirrorless camera) and an Alexa, a Venice, a high end RED model, etc. In a lot of ways this is true, but if you ask me, there is sti

How does this sub feel about the Sigma BF?
I fiddled with it at the pop-up in nyc. I think it’s awesome but I wouldn’t/can’t trade my dollars for one right now. The Nikon the ZR is actually very very similar to the Sigma FP. The Nikon Coolpix A (2013) is very similar to the Ricoh GR. Even though I think the typical Nikon user is looking for

On the hunt for DCI 2K in a 12bit wrapper
Since you are influenced by Yedlin, one important point to consider is that he uses Arri, which means uncompressed raw. Once you add lossy compression, the shape of grain and the finest details are already modified, if subtly. Braw is lossy (and also not really raw, but this is another story). And y

The Lumix S1rii, my experience after 2 months
I've been really struggling with the decision of what newer camera to buy. I had a bad experience with Sony and Nikon Z, because I am so spoiled by the colors and contrast of my CCD DSLR collection — especially the Pentax 645D — and my Sigma fp. Ergonomics are important (hate menus), and I need real

How much do I need to spend before I can get a camera that will outperform my pixel 9 pro
No, you don't need to spend big money on a camera. The reason cine cameras like ARRIs cost tens of thousands of dollars: Niche market They are a small portion of the budget of a big Hollywood film. They are usually rented, often the studio/production company renting out to themselves (tax write-off,
