Are DSLRs still a thing or has mirrorless pretty much taken over?
I’m a longtime DSLR user who recently picked up a Sony A7IV. Modern mirrorless mops the floor with any DSLR when it comes to autofocus, but to me that’s really the only advantage. I prefer an optical viewfinder, and DSLRs are just generally more “ready.” You can leave a 5D in standby mode without dr

I made my highest resolution image of the milky way yet (288 megapixels).
Some details on the shot: Back in April I was in Big Bend, Texas, under the darkest skies in the United States. If you haven't been, I highly recommend it for night sky viewing. It's the first time I've seen a sky as dark as what I experienced on my trip to Namibia a few years ago - you can practica

What’s the difference between Sony and ARRI?
Firstly, let's look at colours (I'm UK so UK spelling). A7IV only shoots continuous in 10 bit. This means if you're filming a 2 minute scene, the Arri's shooting in a genuine 64 billion colours whereas your Sony's only shooting 1 billion. Secondly, dynamic range. If you look at the range, Arris can

Would you stick with MFTeven if you got enough money to get a high end FF kit?
The headline makes the assumption that people choose m43 because they can't afford FF. Which is wild. I shoot professionally with an a7iv. I shoot for fun with an om1.2. Sony takes clinically fantastic photos. Olympus is FUN.

I bought Sony a7iv and kind of regretting it
If you’re on the fence of selling, might want to sell now before the market floods with used A7iv once everyone gets their A7V delivery. That being said the A7iv is a workhorse for client projects, treat it as such and use a different solution for creative projects.

Question for Nick!
We use Sony cameras. For sit down stuff we use a Sony a7s iii and a7 IV. The IVs overheat with USB c charging so you have to use a dummy plug. You'll also need an elgato cam link to connect the Sony to the PC. Sony cam out with the a7 V It's spelled Nik.

Walt Disney World Testing Significantly Improved Disney PhotoPass Cameras
I was really surprised the first time we did Photopass and saw the old Nikons. The A7IV is a huge upgrade (although I'm biased because that's what I shoot with), but the real magic would be if they bumped the file sizes for the downloads.

should i do it?
No. Skip the junk bundle. A7iv (if you really want it) + Sony or sigma 24-70 will carry you far.
