Heavily leaning towards an FX2 right now. Bad idea?
So as someone who’s owned the A7iii, A7iv & Fx30; as well as I currently own the A7S iii, Fx3 & I just picked up the Fx2 I would say the Fx2 is a really good starter. It’s essentially an A7iv or A7C ii in a cinema line body. Truthfully I don’t shoot 4k 120 often and I do a lot of commercial and docu

I want to buy 2x FX Cinema Cameras. But I don't want to record in S-log or Cinetone. Based on this, which one should I go for and does this make me stupid for considering a FX3?
Hey, I’m on fx30 with a rig and audio equipment invested into the ecosystem at this point too— first off congrats for looking into the fx line. They really are special cameras and you can’t go wrong with any of them. First off I’ll explain that s-cinetone is actually just a picture profile preset, w

Is the upgrade from fx30 to fx3 worth it?
How important low-light shooting is for your work? I used the FX30 for about 3 years and recently switched to the FX2. If you’re considering upgrading, one benefit I didn’t expect was the added flexibility. I mostly shoot travel/documentary-style work, so I didn’t really need full frame or the cooli

Is the upgrade from fx30 to fx3 worth it?
Investing in a lens will give you more than buying the FX3. A solid lens on the FX30 will give you amazzzzzingggggggg image. The FX3 is a champ In low light but unless you’re literally shooting a cactus in the desert you typically don’t need to worry about it. There are plenty of other full frame le

FX3 for documentary
I hear that a lot about the fx30 and it’s a very good point. For my doc work, I always find myself in challenging lighting, and super fast primes tend to be very heavy, so all in all the full frame brightness of the fx3 coupled with something like at Sony f4 24-105 gives me just enough in terms of v

Is the upgrade from fx30 to fx3 worth it?
First off, I'd wait a couple months. There's a Sony event in June. This could be the year it gets an upgrade. Second. I do think for doc-style it's worth the upgrade. Fx30 is noisy as hell if you don't get it right in camera. Very little wiggle room. FX3 is soooo much better when it comes to dealing

Is the upgrade from fx30 to fx3 worth it?
I have an FX3, FX30, A7V and A7IV and I’d say go for the A7V. A7V has better AF better, better Ibis, is cheaper, sharper image, allows you to import viewing luts, better screen, allows smart AF while in clear image zoom. 8000 base ISO is a lot more practical then 12,800 and having to ND or stop down

Fuji vs Sony for professional & personal work
I agree with this; I don't have the Fuji but shot a Sony APS-C camera for about 12 years before I got an A7iii. APS-C is a great format and I may get another one of those cameras someday, but I do feel less limited (especially in low light) with full-frame. I used the A7iii for one video project and

Freelancer stuck between Blackmagic and Sony need to replace my broken BMPCC 6K
If you're shooting the BMPCC 6K the more obvious parallel in the Sony world would be the FX 30, not the FX3. It's half the price of the FX3 but same form factor, it's just APS-C instead of full-frame. It has the same cinema features (shutter angle vs. shutter speed, Cine-EI exposure system for shoot

Is the upgrade from fx30 to fx3 worth it?
I had an FX30 for about a year. I bought it when I was doing some relatively simple interview-style shoots for a regular client. I paired the FX30 with a Sony 16-35mm PZ F.4 lens that I regularly used with my A7iv. The FX30 was great for that kind of work, and for run and gun stuff. I do a lot of do
